Medium Format

So all i have ever ever wanted is a medium format camera. Im sure this is a dream that all photographers would love to achieve one day. Well, i finally got one. For my birthday last year, one of my best friends “Cameron Baillie” purchased me my very own medium format camera. I guess i should have specified i wanted a digital back medium format camera such as a hasselblad, phase one and so on..

My Medium Format Camera

So now im “stuck” with this Holga but it kind of got me thinking, how basic can i take this? From all accounts the camera is incredibly basic, however i have been told by my lovely friend that i got one of the ugpraded models being the Holga 120 GFN, as far as i can work out, that means i have a flash and a REAL bit of glass got the lens – who would have thought.

I have only just recently found where the batteries go for the flash and i have had a little help in trying to find the right film for the shots and i hope to post some real soon (when i get around to getting the film and developing etc).

Id love to hear about others experience though on using these Holgas and basic cameras from the day to day of digital cameras.

Be sure to keep coming back to check on my progress but without a focus ability, metering and “delete and retake” im nto sure how i will go

   i havent yet mate i still have to get some film for it. My dream would be a blad i think any blad to be perfectly honest

   either that or the new phase1 which has flash sync at 1/1600th!!!
